Cosmetic Surgery Blepharoplasty(Eye-Lid Surgery)
With age the skin of eyelids stretch and sag, muscles become weak and excess fat collects below your eyelids. This can cause sagging of eyebrows, drooping of upper lids and eye bags in lower eyelids. Baggy skin of upper eyelids can impair vision and decrease field of vision and make a person look older. Blepharoplasty also called Eyelid surgery, corrects droopy eyelids by removing excess skin, muscle and fat. It repairs the sagging upper eyelids to improve vision as well as the appearance of the person. Chin Augmentation
Chin augmentation is achieved with surgical implants by altering the underlying structure of the face and providing better balance to the facial features. This operation can be combined with Rhinoplasty to balance the facial proportions. Chin implants are made in different shapes and sizes. They are made out solid (e.g. Silicone) or semisolid (Polyethylene MEDPORE). Commonly, an incision is made either inside the lower lip or under the chin. A pre-selected implant of the desired size and shape is then placed inside the chin.If the incision is inside the mouth, it is closed with absorbable sutures. If the incision is in the skin under the chin, absorbable Subcuticular stitches are used. The procedure generally takes between 45 and 60 minutes. Rhytidectomy (Facelift)
A facelift( also called rhytidectomy), involves the removal of excess facial skin, with or without the tightening of underlying tissues followed by redraping the skin on the face and neck ,thereby giving a more youthful appearance. They are typically performed under general anesthesia or deep twilight sleep. In the traditional facelift, an incision is made in front of the ear that extends around the bottom of ear and end in hairline in the neck. The skin is separated from the deeper tissues over the cheeks, chin and neck and the deeper tissue (SMAS - fascial suspension system of the face) is tightened with stitches or by removing some part of it.The skin is pulled upwards and backwards and the excess skin is removed as determined by the surgeon. The skin incisions are closed with sutures and staples over a drain. Facelift is generally combined with eye surgery (blepharoplasty) and skin resurfacing (chemical peels or lasers). Rhinoplasty (Nose job)
Rhinoplasty, also known as “nose job” is a plastic surgery procedure that is used to improve the function or appearance of a person's nose. Rhinoplasty can be performed for aesthetic reasons or to correct congenital defects or breathing problems. Rhinoplasty was first developed by Sushruta, an important physician (often regarded as the "father of surgery") who lived in ancient India circa 500 BC to reconstruct noses that were amputated as a punishment for crimes. He developed the techniques of forehead flap Rhinoplasty which is practiced even to this day. Rhinoplasty can be performed under a general anesthetic or with local anesthetic, d. Incisions are made inside the nostrils (Closed Rhinoplasty) or incision extends to the columella, the skin bridge that separates the nostrils. The surgeon separates skin cover of the nose from the underlying structures and then reshapes the cartilage or bone, causing the nasal deformity. Sometime in addition, a septoplasty is performed to improve nasal function, with or without cosmetic changes. The cartilage that is removed may be used as a graft to improve the appearance of the nose.Sometimes a small piece of the patient's own cartilage or bone to added to strengthen or augment the structures of nose. This is done for either cosmetic reasons or to improve breathing and function of the nose. Breast AugmentationA breast implant is a prosthesis used to enlarge the size of a woman's breasts. Breast augmentation is done to enhance the size of breasts using inflatable implants filled with either saline or silicone. The main indications are to enlarge small breasts (augmentation), Lift sagging breasts. (Ptosis correction), Reconstruct absent breasts (breast reconstruction), Correct unequal sized breasts (symmetry correction), and reconstruct the breast after surgery (e.g. Mastectomy) or to correct genetic deformities (Poland Syndrome). There are two primary types of breast implants: saline and silicone gel implants. Saline implants have a silicone rubber shell filled with sterile saline liquid. Silicone gel implants have a silicone shell filled with a viscous silicone gel.Cohesive gel Implants contain high density silicone gel, which is highly resistant to leakage or rupture. Cohesiveness of these implants is likely to eliminate or significantly reduce silicone migration. Breast ReductionIt is a surgical procedure which involves the reduction in the size of breasts by excising fat, skin, and glandular tissue; this procedure also results in breast upliftment for drooping of the breasts. Breast reduction surgery is indicated in women with large, pendulous breasts, as weight of their breasts may cause neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, or breathing problems. The weight may also result in bras straps abrading the skin.Others are simply uncomfortable with the large size of their breasts.Reduction mammoplasty makes breasts smaller, lighter, and firmer. The surgeon may also reduce the size of the areola or nipples. Young women with good skin tone and moderately enlarged breasts can be reduced by liposuction The most common procedure involves Vertical scar mammoplasty. The incision extends downward, following the natural curve of the breast.Excess glandular tissue, fat, and skin is removed and the nipple and areola are moved into their new position. Scarring from this procedure may be permanent. Though permanent, the surgeon can generally make the scars inconspicuous. Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a 'tummy tuck,' is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, tightens the abdominal muscles, as well as reduces the sagging; excess skin and accumulated fatty tissue. The procedure is designed to dramatically flatten the appearance of a protruding abdomen. The procedure is a common one and can benefit men and women who are bothered by a protruding abdomen. The best candidates for abdominoplasty are men or women who are in relatively good shape but are bothered by a large fat deposit or loose abdominal skin that won't respond to diet or exercise. LiposuctionLiposuction is a procedure that can help body sculpting by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. There are many techniques, including ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique, that help a plastic surgeon to provide patients with more precise results with quicker recovery times. While exercise and dieting may be useful for losing unwanted weight and fat, some fat deposits are very resistant and may not respond to efforts at weight loss. Applying liposuction techniques may be an option in these situations. Liposuction is not a shortcut alternative to exercise and diet. BotoxBOTOX or botulinum toxin type A, is a natural purified protein, commonly used to non-surgically reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected in the small muscles in areas surrounding the eyes and forehead to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines. The injections block nerve impulses and weaken the muscles to relax wrinkles and give a smoothened rejuvenated and a more youthful appearance.BOTOX is also useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and facial muscle spasms. BOTOX is a simple, non surgical treatment that can temporarily smoothen moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles.BOTOX is the only treatment of its type approved by US FDA. It has been used in millions of patients worldwide in last 15 years. Chemical peels
Chemical peels remove superficial layers of skin on the face to smoothen the texture, decrease scarring, and remove blemishes to give skin healthy glowing look. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. There are basically three types of peels, from mild to strong – alphahydroxy acids (AHAs), tricholoroacetic acid (TCA) and phenol – and strength of the solution is tailored to each patient.Peels can be combined with other procedures t give a younger look. Laser hair removalThe person who is tired of temporary methods of unwanted hair removal , laser hair removal provides a big relief. |
